Description: The Assassin Snail is a carnivorous freshwater snail known for its striking black and yellow banded shell. It is popular in the aquarium hobby for its ability to control pest snail populations by preying on other snails.

Size: Up to 1 inch (2.5 cm)

Aquarium Size: A minimum of 10 gallons is recommended for a small group of Assassin Snails.

Temperament: Assassin Snails are peaceful toward fish and other invertebrates but will prey on other snails, making them effective for pest control.

Group Size: Assassin Snails can be kept singly or in small groups of 3 to 5 for better pest control efficiency.

Compatibility: Assassin Snails can be kept with small, peaceful fish and invertebrates such as shrimp and larger snails that are not prone to predation.

Diet: Carnivorous. They primarily feed on other snails but can also consume sinking pellets, frozen foods, and detritus.

Care Level: Beginner. They are hardy and low-maintenance, making them suitable for a wide range of aquarists.

Planted Aquarium: Assassin Snails can be kept in a planted aquarium. They do not damage plants and can help maintain a healthy substrate.

Invertebrate Compatibility: Assassin Snails are safe with larger invertebrates like Amano Shrimp and Mystery Snails but will prey on smaller snails.

Lid Recommendation: A lid is recommended to prevent accidental escape, as Assassin Snails may explore above the waterline.

Additional Notes: Assassin Snails reproduce slowly, making them less likely to become pests themselves. They bury themselves in the substrate, which is normal behavior.
