The Misbar Percula Clownfish is a stunning designer variant of the traditional Percula Clownfish, characterized by its incomplete or “misbarred” white stripes. This unique pattern creates a beautiful contrast against its vibrant orange body, making each individual visually distinct. Misbar Percula Clownfish come in a range of color variations, with lighter and darker individuals commonly available. As they mature, these clownfish typically develop darker black markings, especially around the edges of their white bars and fins.
The images shown are representations of what may be selected for customers, showcasing both lighter and darker color variations. Due to natural variations in pattern and coloration, each Misbar Percula Clownfish is truly one of a kind.
Care Requirements:
The Misbar Percula Clownfish thrives in aquariums of at least 20 gallons, with live rock for shelter and territorial security. It adapts well to both reef and fish-only tanks and does not require an anemone to thrive. However, it may naturally host in anemones such as Entacmaea quadricolor (Bubble Tip Anemone) if provided.
Diet:
An omnivore, this clownfish enjoys a varied diet of high-quality marine pellets, flakes, and frozen foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Adding spirulina or marine algae helps enhance its vibrant coloration and supports overall health.
Temperament:
The Misbar Percula Clownfish has a peaceful to semi-aggressive temperament. It can be kept singly, in bonded pairs, or with other peaceful community fish. Like most clownfish, it may display territorial behavior, especially during breeding or when established in a small tank.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef Safe. This clownfish is safe with corals and invertebrates, making it an excellent choice for reef aquariums. It may occasionally rearrange soft corals when exhibiting hosting behavior in the absence of an anemone.
Compatibility:
Compatible with other peaceful fish and invertebrates. It can be housed with other designer clownfish varieties in larger tanks, though territorial disputes may arise. Avoid housing with overly aggressive tankmates that may outcompete it for food or cause stress.
