The Pink Spotted Watchman Goby is a hardy and beneficial addition to saltwater aquariums, known for its ability to sift through sand in search of food, helping to keep the substrate clean. This goby features a light tan body covered in vibrant pink spots, making it a visually appealing choice for reef and fish-only aquariums.

Size:
This species grows to a maximum size of about 4-5 inches.

Aquarium Size:
A minimum tank size of 30 gallons is recommended to provide ample space and a suitable sand bed for natural behaviors.

Temperament:
Generally peaceful, the Pink Spotted Watchman Goby does well in community aquariums. However, it may be territorial toward other gobies unless introduced as a bonded pair.

Reef Compatibility:
This goby is reef-safe and will not bother corals or invertebrates, making it an excellent choice for reef tanks.

Diet:
It thrives on a varied diet, including frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and high-quality sinking pellets. It will also sift through the sand for microorganisms.

Tank Setup & Care:

  • Requires a sandy substrate for burrowing.

  • Often pairs with pistol shrimp, forming a symbiotic relationship.

  • Provide plenty of rockwork for hiding spots.

Compatibility:
This fish can be kept with other peaceful tankmates. It is advisable to introduce them all at the same time to an appropriately sized aquarium, usually 5 feet or longer. Ensure that food sources are not lacking to minimize aggression problems.
